Massey Ferguson Announces Open Call for Submissions for Journalism Award

Articles and news reports on agribusiness can be submitted until July 2; this edition has new rules.

Submissions are open for the 17th Journalism Award, a cultural contest held by Massey Ferguson, a company that represents the most pioneering and modern agricultural machinery manufactured in the world. Aimed at Communication professionals and students who produce articles or news reports on agribusiness, the award is divided into seven categories: Newspaper, Magazine, Multimedia, TV, Photojournalism, Student and South, Central Americas and the Caribbean.

The first place of each category (Newspaper, Magazine, Multimedia, TV, Photojournalism) will receive $ 15,000, the second place will be awarded a tablet and the third place a smartphone. The winner of the Student category will take home R $ 7,000, while in the South and Central Americas and the Caribbean category, the winner will be contemplated with a trip for two to Porto de Galinhas (PE).

The journalists can submit up to three stories in each category, which will be evaluated by a jury composed of professionals with experience and knowledge in communication and areas related to agribusiness, who work in institutions, universities, associations or who experienced journalism in their professional history. Stories with publication date between Sep. 5, 2017 and July 2, 2018 may be submitted.

From this edition on, a series of reports or special stories can compete within the following requirements:
  • Newspaper and Magazine categories: series of reports with up to 3 stories will be considered one submission.
  • TV category: only content broadcast with up to 20 min of duration will be accepted. There is no restriction for the number of blocks.
  • Multimedia category: the total time limit established is up to 5 minutes per registration.

To apply, candidates must complete a submission form on the website www.premiojornalismo.com.br, in which they can participate with up to three stories in each category. At the time of submission, the participants should upload their stories for jury evaluation.
