1. OBJECTIVE The Journalism Award, which completes 17 years in 2018, is a cultural contest, free, with no registration fees or product or services purchase promoted by AGCO do Brasil Máquinas e Equipamentos Agrícolas LTDA., which is headquartered in Ribeirão Preto city, São Paulo state, at Av. dos Bandeirantes, n° 384, Vila Virgínia, CNPJ under number 55.962.369/0001-77. The competition aims to encourage, recognize and value the work of journalists in Brazil and countries in South and Central America and the Caribbean, who promote, through media reports, topics related to the agribusiness, involving aspects such as the sector’s production, technology, and development, as well as topics that interfere directly or indirectly in the economic development. |

2. TO COMPETE - REQUIREMENTS
2.1 Work written in Portuguese, Spanish and English, published in the media with headquarters or branches in countries of South and Central America and the Caribbean are entitled to compete.
2.7 For serial reports in the Student and South, Central and Caribbean Americas Categories, the specifications mentioned in item 2.6 are valid. 2.8 Republished work or that have been published before the given period in item 2.4 will not be accepted. 2.9 Works produced by members of the Jury, employees or service providers of AGCO South America cannot compete for the Journalism Award. 2.10 Works published on vehicles whose core business is not primarily journalistic cannot compete for the Journalism Award. 2.11 The contestants should have a current bank account available in their own name. |

3. CATEGORIES & AWARDS
To participate in the cultural competition, the Journalism Award, the following is necessary: |

4. REGISTRATION 4.1 Applications will be made by the correct completion of the registration form and upload of the works enrolled on the Award website, as described above in items 2 and 3. 4.2 The registration form must be filled out in the Award website from March 5th, 2018 to July 2nd, 2018 on www.premiojornalismo.com.br and www.premiojornalismo.com.br/esp and www.premiojornalismo.com.br/en available throughout the registration period. 4.3 All digital copies attached to the application shall certify the content of the work with precision and clarity or the registration will be canceled. 4.4 Each participant may submit a maximum of three (03) works in each of the categories indicated in item 3. Three works by journalist, not per media. 4.5 It is mandatory to fill out the registration form and choose a specific category. The title of the story and the participant's name should be the same as the original registered story. In the event of no indication of the category in the Registration Form, the work will be automatically disqualified. 4.6 The authorship of unsigned work, without credits, or signed with an alias, must be proven in a statement in stamped sheet, signed by the editor or editorial director of the story. 4.7 Further information other than the one provided upon registration, even if supported by the editorial board of the media, will not be considered. 4.8 The digital copies or any other elements relating to competing works submitted for registration will be registered in AGCO database. 4.9 The Technical Committee will be responsible for analyzing the registrations and for eliminating or indicating to the Jury the cases that do not meet the provisions of this Regulation. 4.10 The Technical Committee shall be comprised of members appointed by the organizers, in their sole discretion, varying the number of components depending on the number of registrations. 4:11 AGCO do Brasil/Massey Ferguson will be responsible for approving the list of members in the Technical Committee. 4.12 The act of registration, either directly or through the editorial board or management of the medias, implies the acceptance of these rules. 4.13 The confirmation of registration and the receipt of the works submitted will be made via the e-mail registered by the applicant upon completion. |

5. COMPOSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JURY 5.1 The Jury shall be comprised of media, education, agribusiness and research professionals, and it should be announced to the public before the period of registration ends. 5.2 AGCO DO BRASIL/Massey Ferguson reserves the right to replace any juror for reasons of force majeure, pledging to report the change to all registered participants. 5.3 It is the Jury’s responsibility to ratify the registrations canceled, deliberate on omissions, evaluate the works approved by the Technical Committee and nominate the pre-selected participants and winners in each category. 5.4 The evaluation of the materials listed will be performed according to the technical aspects of journalism, such as verification of information, agenda, editing and resources used to write the story. 5.5 The Jury shall elect among its constituents, by consensus or vote, the Chairman of the Jury, who will have the casting vote. 5.6 The decisions of the Jury are final, subject to the provisions of this Regulation, and free from any interference by AGCO DO BRASIL/Massey Ferguson or CDN Comunicação - a communication agency responsible for the organization of the contest -, with no recourse. 5.7 The Jury will also be responsible for assigning the Jury’s Special Tribute - AGCO's Highlight for Agricultural Journalism to a media professional (registered or not in the competition) or to a program, media or notorious contribution entity that has somehow developed, promoted and added value to the agricultural journalism in Brazil. The honoree will receive an exclusive trophy and a symbolic prize, without the payment of any sum of money. 5.7.1 The criteria for this distinction are the at Jury’s discretion, with no registration or nominations for this category. 5.7.2 No other distinction will be given than those provided for in this Regulation. |

6. SELECTION AND AWARD 6.1 First Phase: the Jury will select the finalists, indicating up to five works in each category. 6.2 Second Phase: the Jury appoint a winner in each category among the finalists selected in the previous phase. There will be three winners per category in different positions and awards. 6.3 The names of the finalists will be released in mid-August 2018 by a statement posted on the Journalism Award website. The contestants also receive a notification via the e-mail registered. 6.4 The event to present the finalists and the award ceremony will be held at a place and date to be set and disclosed previously, to which all the finalists will be invited. 6.5 AGCO DO BRASIL/Massey Ferguson will pay for airfare, round trip, and 01 (one) day at the hotel for the participation of the finalists in the award ceremony. The airline company and the hotel will be chosen by AGCO DO BRASIL. 6.6 For the categories existing in Brazil (items 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5 and 3.6) the award corresponds to trophies and amounts in Reais (Brazilian currency), which will have withholding of taxes applicable on the premium to be paid. The deposit will be made in the check account indicated by the winner under his or her name within 30 (thirty) business days from the date of the award ceremony, by signing the Receipt Agreement provided by AGCO DO BRASIL. 6.7 For the finalists ranked in 2and3rd places, the award corresponds to a tablet and a smartphone, respectively. AGCO DO BRASIL will choose model and brand of the devices. 6.8 For the current category for South and Central America and the Caribbean (item 3.7) the award corresponds to a trophy and a trip of five (05) days to Porto de Galinhas, Pernambuco, Brazil, for two, where both travelers must be over 18 years old, on a date to be set until December 2018. The trip can be done during March, April or May 2019, except in national or regional holidays. 6.8.1 The trip for the current category of the South and Central America and the Caribbean (item 3.7) includes: airline tickets, round trip from the place of residence of the winner and companion, 4 nights in a hotel, breakfast and welcome dinner, and 3 days of guided sightseeing in major attractions in Porto de Galinhas, Pernambuco, Brazil. 6.8.2 The costs not mentioned, as well as documents and visas necessary for traveling, are the traveler’s responsibility only, and AGCO DO BRASIL will not be held responsible for missing the trip due to problems regarding documentation and/or personal reasons of the contest winner and/or his or her companion. 6.8.3 This award includes, to the winner of the category and his/her companion, Travel Assistance with medical, legal services and insurance in case of accident, death and lost luggage. 6.8.4 AGCO DO BRASIL/Massey Ferguson is responsible, at its sole discretion, for choosing the airline company, hotel, dates and times for traveling, as well as other decisions regarding the organization of the trip. |

7. GENERAL PROVISIONS OF THE 16th Journalism Award
7.1 The author or authors of the works submitted, authorize their works to be reproduced, in whole or in part, in initiatives of the JOURNALISM AWARD organizers, such as books, magazines, brochures, websites, catalogs and exhibitions which predominantly have an informative/cultural character, in order to extol the journalistic work, regardless of any license fee or payment in addition to the awards already described under this Regulation. |
